Is there any SO2 production due to decomposition of Sulfolane use as a solvent for aromatics extraction?

Sulfolane has been used as solvent to extract aromatics in refining and petrochemical industries. Several more good solvents have been introduced for extraction purposes. Sulfolane normally does not decompose in the process / regeneration unless the temperature become excessively high due to sum upsets and in presence of contaminants like oxygen and chlorine that result in corrosion too.

No, Sulfolane will not easily degrade to form SO2.
