High Steam Standby in cracker unit. as feed withdrawn and furnace in hot conditions and steam is venting. this is for short shutdown.

HSS Mode stands for Hot Steam Standby (in ethylene cracking) where heater runs on dilution steam only. No hydrocarbons are cracked in the heater.
