In a hydrogen plant is it possible to use wash water instead of Amin guard to control PH of reflux system?

You should provide a bit more information on your unit. I am assuming that you are running an amine unit to remove CO2. Amine guard has been abandoned in most locations because it was a solution containing heavy metals. Disposal of the amine solution is therefore very difficult and costly. In most amine units, there is no need to control the pH of the reflux system. In refineries there is a need to control the salt content of the reflux. In most cases wash water addition in the reflux system is not required. The water deficiency of the unit can be corrected by water make-up anywhere in the unit.
