It is common that Stadis450 is the 'conductivity improver' being used by many refiners. At the dosing point of conductivity improver, it used to be at higher side but at the receiving end in storage tank, drop in conductivity could be observed. Further drop in conductivity may happen during the course of time in storage. Reason for this are many. (i) Water is capable of observing the conductivity improver from the jet fuel. Presence of water in the product stream or in the storage tank can cause drop in conductivity. (ii) Caustic carry over from kero treating section can also cause drop in conductivity. (iii) Ensure shelf life of the conductivity improver has not exceeded its limit. To address these issues, ensure there is no water/ moisture carryover along with the product stream from kero treating unit. Ensure water wash column level is at optimum level. It should not too high as this may end up in carry over of water to your salt filter. This will deplete your salt in the filter prematuredly and overload the filters. Any carryover of moisture to clay filter will be disastrous to the treating unit. Check water draw off line at storage tank. It should be free of water.

It 'dried out' Dispersed and dissolved water separated and dropped out to the tank bottom.
