A MSCC is a specialized version of a standard FCC. While an FCC allows the catalyst to react with the reactor feed for a prolonged amount of time, an MSCC allows the catalyst to react with the feed for a very short amount of time, about a millisecond.
Other than that, the process is very much the same. The catalyst facilitates the cracking of the feed and is then sent to the regenerator to be cleaned up for reuse.
