Ethanol is completely soluble in water and so cannot be separated from water, neither it is adsorbable by activated carbon, nor can it be stripped At concentrations above 10 mg/l it may be toxic to aquatic life. It exerts COD and BOD of about 1:2.56. You need to treat this wastewater in a biological wastewater treatment plant if you have one.
