In most of the flare KOD's within a process unit, there is one inlet line at the middle of the horizontal KOD vessel and two outlets (from the two ends of the horizontal KOD) which joins and then goes as a single line. Why is this so ?

This is a design aspect, taking into consideration the vapour area above the liquid level and also the velocity of the vapour. In case of higher velocity, the chances of carryover (unintended liquid with the vapour) is increased. By doubling the number of vapour outlets, by providing additional outlet nozzle, the velocity is reduced thus reducing the chances of carryover.
