Throughput related to space time...if you increase throughput means reducing space-time in the reactor.. For that you have to either increase pressure or severity within the limits... pressure is fixed so increase temperature can compensate for the increase in throughput

There are several inter-related variables. With a unit being designed, the value of any of them can be changed. Obviously, with an existing unit, some are fixed or difficult to change. The variables are: • Feed rate • Feed composition • H/H.C. ratio at reactor inlet • Temperature • LHSV • Pressure An example of the inter-relation speaks directly to the question: If the throughput is increased, the temperature can be increased to maintain conversion.
