Is stripped water useful for amine dilution and caustic dilution?
06/11/2017 A: Egbert van Hoorn, Hocon B V, Egbertvh@hotmail.com
In principle stripped water can be used for amine dilution and caustic dilution.
Stripped water is of high quality because it should be mostly condensed steam and high quality process wash water.
It is important to make sure that the stripped water is not contaminated with other streams of lower quality like fire water, ballast water from ships or other unknown streams. The SWS is often used to dispose unknown streams.....
The residuals of H2S and Nh3 in the stripped water are normally small enough to have no effect on amine systems and caustic treaters.
