The start up procedure for fresh catalyst or re-startup for used catalysts are provided by the catalyst vendor. That also includes the pre-wetting method and temperature. The sulfur leach out from catalyst is also dependent on temperature and could be more than 230 -250 degree C

Whether the catalyst is in-situ sulfided or pre-sulfided (Totsucat), the maximum temperature of circulating the recycle gas is 400F. Above this temperature, depending on duration, sulfur content of recycle gas, catalyst type, size, etc., catalyst reduction and sulfur removal can occur.
