The common problem with backwash filters is the cleaning efficiency of the backflush procedure. Certainly when the debris is sticky (and that is the case here), the filter screen is not completely flushed free of sediment. Sooner or later the filter has to be opened for manual cleaning. I have been responsible for filtration optimisation in Shell for many years and I have searched the filter manufacturing market for a good solution. The solution was found in the ACR or ACB filter, produced by Filtrex in Milan.
