1-The spent catalyst can be dumped in inert atmosphere following specially recommended procedure. 2-Dumping such catalyst in air may lead to fire as the iron scale fines in reduced state are highly pyrophoric. 3- Such catalyst dumped in inert as stated in 1 can be properly stored in drum using solid carbon dioxide and shipped for platinum recovery.
