Q & A > Question Details
We are looking for information about cyclic catalytic reforming units and the conversion of semiregeneratives units into cyclic units. Would be useful to know what refineries in the world have revamped a SR UNIT to cyclic unit. Capital cost are prohibited? What would have to be the size of the new fourth reactor?

These days refiners prefer to convert their S-R CRU into CCR instead of conversion to cyclic units. Several years back in seventies conversion to cyclic might have been done preferentially to CCR as CCR were invented in seventies.
The cost for conversion depend upon the various factors. Axen and UOP have done revamps to full conversion to CCr or DUALFORMING type of technologies where one additional moving bed reactor and regenerator is added to S-R unit
