The MEK/Toluene dewaxing process was normally used to remove the wax from the lube oil. The new processes use NMP or catalytic dewaxing process to remove or convert the wax to smaller molecules which are acceptable in lube oil.
The hydrogenation of wax is done by classic hydrotreating processes.......
