Q & A > Question Details
During jet fuel manufacturing, conductivity improver and stability improver additives are added . During critical periods, the fuel requires prolonged storage times, around six to nine months. After this prolonged storage , does the fuel lose its stability? If so. why? Can the additives doped during manufacturing contribute to the instability of the fuel ?

ASTM D1655-18b (Standard Specification for Aviation Turbine Fuels), Table 2, Detailed Information for Additives for Aviation Turbine Fuels, only mentions Antioxidants, Metal Deactivators, Electrical Conductivity Improvers, Leak Detection Additive, Biocidal Additives, and Corrosion Inhibitor/Lubricity Improvers. What do you mean by "stability improver"? On the other hand, some additives used to improve electrical conductivity can react with trace compounds present in the jet fuel.
