I am working in an HGU unit. I want to know if olefins or unsaturated compound increases, what will happen in prereformer catalyst.

The feedstock will be hydrogenated i.e saturation and desulfurising reactions , before reforming reactions. Even still olefins carry over are there, creation of polymerisation reactions and carbon deposit on catalyst.

If olefins or unsaturated compounds increase, the possibility of fouling deposition on the prereformer catalyst will increase. The polymeric fouling will thereafter degrade to coke. ITW has a broad experience in dissolving polymers and can help in facing the above problems. Please contact me privately if you wish to have more informations.
